Education is one of the cornerstones of our country. Not only are we one of the wealthiest countries on earth, we are also one of the most educated. But, I wonder how long that will last. While I believe greatly in creativity, ingenuity and entrepreneurial ventures, education plays a key part in success. I know it has for me.
Recently, however, the democratic congress has introduced student loan legislation that is not only detrimental to our educational system, but hazardous to the long-term wealth of our graduates.
Though college students may appear to be winning "the student loan wars," with increases in the Pell Grant Awards and other considerations, the costs may be too great. My hope is that by informing people we can avoid a disaster in the making. My intention here is not to invoke fear, but to bring awareness that leads to action and the ultimate defeat of these detrimental bills.
Here's a blog that gives you a clear picture of what's going on and what is really at stake.
